Scott Matsuda was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012. Following his diagnosis, he received treatment that wasn’t targeted for his specific type of cancer and caused extreme fatigue and painful mouth ulcers. When he found a medication that could help but would cost $6,000 per month—something he couldn’t afford—that’s when he turned to the PAN Foundation for help. Originally born in Hawaii, he now lives in Washington state with his wife, Jennifer, where he loves to garden, travel, and spend time with their grandkids.
As a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council, I hope to alert others who need the kind of support we did about the wonderful work of the PAN Foundation.
