TailorMed and the PAN Foundation launch new initiative to reduce financial barriers for low-income Medicare beneficiaries
Partnership to help enroll Medicare Part D Patients in Social Security Administration’s Extra Help Program to alleviate financial healthcare burdens
TailorMed, the leading financial navigation technology company that helps patients and healthcare providers remove financial barriers to care, and the PAN Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping underinsured patients access their medications by assisting with their out-of-pocket costs, announced a new initiative to provide TailorMed’s best-in-class financial navigation technology support to assist PAN’s eligible patients to enroll in the Social Security Administration’s Extra Help program for people with Medicare Part D.
The partnership will enable eligible PAN grant recipients to receive one-on-one support from TailorMed’s team of financial navigators to help them enroll in the Extra Help program to ensure patients and their families can afford medical treatment.
Today, thousands of Medicare beneficiaries with fixed or limited incomes are paying more than they should for their prescription drug coverage and critical medications because they have not enrolled in the Extra Help program, a program that helps people with limited income and resources pay Medicare prescription drug program costs, like premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance. Many seniors either do not know they are eligible or need assistance applying for the program.
“We are excited to partner with PAN to remove patient financial barriers to care,” said TailorMed CEO Srulik Dvorsky. “Managing your care or your loved one’s care can be complex and exhausting at best, and growing medical bills can exacerbate those challenges. By partnering with PAN, we hope to alleviate some of the financial hardship for individuals and families who need it the most.”
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with TailorMed to provide high-touch financial navigation services to help our patients enroll in the Extra Help program,” said PAN Foundation President and CEO Dan Klein. “Even with financial assistance for their out-of-pocket medication costs, many of our patients still face significant financial barriers to care. Thanks to TailorMed’s navigation team, patients can enroll in this critical program that could allow them to start and stay on treatment.”
The PAN Foundation is one of the largest U.S. charitable organizations providing financial support to underinsured patients. Since 2004, the PAN Foundation has helped nearly one million people pay for their out-of-pocket treatment costs through almost 70 disease-specific programs.
